It is the western culture! Denim really stole the show, and the denim dresses became famous! It is the most comfortabke day-wear. Denim dresses are the easiest to accessorize and even better can be worn with all colours. One denim dress can look different everyday. Wear it with heels and some gold, you will be ready to head out! On the other hand wear it with slippers and colourful beads around the neck, with the perfect shades and you will be ready to head out in the sun!
Who said floral was only for dresses? The floral skirts are doing equally well! They are trendy and hot. If you buy a skirt, make sure its floral this summer! The high waist skirts, baby doll skirts, frilly skirts are all in floral. Some are stiff and smart in cotton and spandex, great to wear at day or night, where as the others are light and flowy in nets or georgettes, great for a day wear. You know your style, so pick up your fit, but stick to floral. As I said before, we all need a girly moment once in a while!
Who could carry lace better than the queen-bee herself? Lace has been this season's favourite. Its the most wanted night-wear. Its like the blackberry, everyone needs to have it these days! The lace dress is classy, elegant and sophisticated. It was first worn in the victorian era, and is back with the same purpose, that is to embrace the women's body. Wear the lace not only in a dress but in a cami, tunic or a shirt. Lace was flaunted in the spring/summer 2010 shows, as well as the Autumn/Wniter 2010-11 shows. So feel free and invest in the lace, its going to stay in fashion for some time!
The Ralph Lauren chandelier frill dress worn by Serena was a show stealer. Layers are all over, be it your t-shirts, tunics or dresses. Frilly layers make it chic this season. It falls as a chandelier from the ceiling on your body, making it look elegant and classy. It is definetly a must buy this season, especially the layer dresses in georgettes. To be honest I know you already have it, but those who dont, please go and get one, theres still some time to let the layers move like a chandelier!
Ever noticed these gorgeous ruffles? If you didn't, then its time you do! Ruffles come down to us to embrace our shoudlers, sleeves and necklines in orgenza, georgettes or lycra. Now I can't help but mention the gorgeous Ruffle shoulder dress at Stella Mccartneys spring/summer 2010. And let me tell you, that she wasn't the only one who did ruffles. Giambatista Valli, showed some timeless pieces in ruffles. D&G, Marc by Marc jacobs and others did add ruffles to their collection. It is fun, vibrant, and hmmm frilly! Lets take those plain t-shirts and make them exciting by adding some ruffles. Now dont go over-board with it, but play with it!
Want it edgy? Wear the denim shirts. It was seen on the runway at all the spring/summer shows 2010. Chloe, Ralph Lauren, D&G none of them spared denim, and shirt was their favourite! You can go wild with denim, double-shade denim, or printed denim..wear it as a shirt, or a jacket and if you can carry it tie a knot and wear the shirt. Topshop has the best collection of denim shirts,Mango and river island is catching up! But its not rocket science to make this shirt...if you have a tailor get the material from Mohan singh place and get hot shirts made.
It;s Blake Lively again wearing the young and fresh floral jumpsuit from Topshop. This is a perfect summer clothing that's fun and attracts attention. It was seen in the spring/summer 2010 shows at Stella Mccartney's, Marc by Marc jacobs and D&G's shows. It is another one of those seasons must have pieces that is chic and sporty. Fiddle with your hair, and couple them up with perfect heels or slippers, and you could be ready for a movie, lunch, picnic or a night-out.
